This is one of my favorite texts. It has been so meaningful to me ever since I have a kid. Now, I have a kindergarten to manage, this text always reminds me the duty for the kids.
I completely agree! This text reminds me of the charge I have been issued to invest in the generations to come and especially my little one in so many aspects of life. From education to social to spiritual etc. As a Family Child Care Provider I have the luxury in doing this on a daily basis. My private in-home Child Care facility is Christian based.
I personally love this Scripture but how can I use this in the public school. Its difficult to use religion in the classroom. Prayer is not loudly permitted. Some private schools are capping up some religious things. I do feel if it was not for God where would we be?
I certainly understand how you feel! When I attended public school in Maryland and that was a long time ago....My High School teacher and many students had a prayer group that met every morning in front of the school near the flag pole. Prayer was not allowed in the school, but it was permit in front of the school.
In public sectors/ systems, I respect and believe that we as professional(educators, social workers, doctors etc.)should never impose our beliefs on others. I do have the luxury of having a private in home care daycare that is Christian based and we do have morning devotions, prayer, a weekly bible, praise songs daily, (this is a common routine in most christian based daycare and centers) and most of my parent are Christian and/or want their child in a christian based child care facility even if they don't practice Christianity. However if I did work in a public school or non-christian based child care facility,I would certainly respect the policy and regulations in place and abide by them. But I would then go home and pray for everybody including myself!!:)
