Research Around the World

A few of the current international research topics listed on the Early Childhood Australia website are as follows: Child’s Health & Childhood Obesity, Baby &Toddler Sleeping, and School Readiness and Children Transitions.
I found that the Eat Right Don’t Fight Practical Guide to Helping Children Eat Right from birth to preschool very insightful. Although I understand that childhood obesity is a very well know issue within the USA, I didn’t realize that it was a prevalent an early childhood issue in Australia.  Similarly I find it very interesting how the Australian field of early childhood education has developed a nutrition and child friendly dietary curriculum for the age group mentioned above.

  1. What a venture to commit to. Australian field of early childhood education has developed a nutrition and child friendly dietary curriculum for the age group mentioned above. I think that this is just awesome, to care for children to the point of including a guide to what children should eat from birth to preschool.

Really, commitment is what will bring about excellence in EC field.

    Insightful Indeed!

  2. I looked that the Early Childhood Australia website as well. I think that is great that you chose to explore the information about childhood obesity and nutrition in Australia. I think that a curriculum that is dedicated to instructing educators and children about the importance of good nutrition is extremely important and I am glad that this issue is being explored at an international level.

  3. Rachel,
I found the Early Childhood Australia website very interesting. I can certainly see why Australia is rated six in the world in education. I found that they place a lot of emphasis on excellence in education. The Early Learning Framework, and The National Quality Framework are given top priority in their country. I also discovered some articles of interest that I can incorporate in my research simulation.

  4. Rachel,

That is interesting that childhood obesity is an issue in Australia too. It would be interesting to see a wide range of data on this subject in developed countries to see a trend, or learn from other countries that don't have this issue.
